Newcastle Northstars Para Ice Hockey
Para ice hockey is fast, fierce, and unapologetically intense. Played by athletes with physical disabilities, it's an adrenaline-fueled battle on ice where players propel themselves on specially designed sleds, using two shortened hockey sticks with metal picks to glide and manoeuver at blistering speeds. The game demands grit, precision, and the unbreakable spirit of a warrior.
The Newcastle Northstars, a team of dedicated para ice hockey athletes who train and compete at Hunter Ice Skating Stadium (HISS) most Sundays. On the ice, they are more than just teammates—they are a family, pushing boundaries, breaking stereotypes, and proving that disability does not mean inability.
If you love high-impact sports, edge-of-your-seat action, and the raw determination of athletes who refuse to quit, go watch them play.
